Higher Power Factor Charges

From 1 April 2014 high voltage customers with a power factor of <0.95 will face a substantially increased power factor charge. This is to incentivise customers with a low power factor to install correction equipment and improve their power factor. A low power factor can have a negative impact on both individual site efficiency and distribution network efficiency.
